Executive Mental Health is seeking a full time or part time clinical psychologist to join our team of licensed psychologists and neuropsychologists to work in acute hospitals and skilled nursing facilities.


  • - Must have current a license to practice in the state of California as a psychologist or neuropsychologist

  • - Bilingual/multilingual is a plus. Certain regions have higher need for different language capacities

Job Description

Neuropsychologists: Clinical neuropsychologists provide assessment and evaluation services to acute hospitals, skilled nursing, assisted living facilities, and/or outpatient clinics in their assigned regions. Duties include completion of initial screening evaluations and more detailed neuropsychological evaluations. Referral questions include, but are not limited to, formulation of differential diagnosis, various capacity issues, treatment planning, and/or discharge planning. Training and support are provided.


  • • Doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (required)
  • • One or more years of post-doctoral experience in the practice of neuropsychology or rehabilitation psychology (required)
  • • Current and valid California state licensure as a Psychologist (required)
  • • Medicare Provider eligibility (required)
  • • Willingness to be placed on various 3rd party insurer panels (required)

Position Responsibilities/Standards (include but are not limited to):

  • • Exceptional clinical skills in the area of neuropsychological and psychological assessment.
  • • Experience evaluating geriatric patients and patients with primary medical conditions including, but not limited to, neurologically complex individuals.
  • • Experience evaluating geriatric patients and patients with primary psychiatric conditions including, but not limited to, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, and psychotic spectrum disorders.
  • • Excellent report writing skills, which succinctly, accurately, and effectively communicate the patient’s needs and pattern of neurocognitive strengths and weaknesses to a variety of readers and offer individualized and practical treatment recommendations.
  • • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, patients, other doctors, and staff at various facilities.
  • • Flexibility to work hours that will accommodate the patient population as well as to meet productivity goals and deadlines.
  • • Shall assume additional clerical or clinical duties as requested or needed to ensure that normal organization operations are sustained and to ensure compliance with facility state standards in preparation for survey.
  • • Manage daily schedules, review and disposition consults, monitor appointment utilization and patient access to care, conduct mandatory clinical training.
  • • Conduct ongoing sweeps of the nursing facilities to foster/maintain referral flow.
  • • Communication with supervisors and Community Liaisons to ensure day to day goals are met, i.e., caseloads, referral process, scheduling, interface with facilities and EMH staff.
  • • This job may require long commutes, i.e., > 45 minutes; hence, the candidate must be responsible for a reliable source of transportation.
  • • Obtain and evaluate relevant historical information and incorporate this into the evaluation and treatment planning.
  • • Report weekly and monthly to EMH staff to identify and formulate strategies to address any issues that may disrupt clinician’s ability to meet expected work goals.
  • • Open to the provision of future presentations with elite staff for potential contracts, able to lead power point presentation addressing topics of interest, e.g., trauma informed care, diagnosis and treatment of cognitive and behavioral symptoms in dementia/major neurocognitive disorders.
  • • History of didactic work and/or clinical supervision in issues salient to ethnicity and dementia. This includes, but is not limited to, appropriate test selection and use of relevant normative data for interpretation.
  • • Ability to work independently and take complete ownership of responsibilities of all the above.

Physical Demands:
  • • Able to push, pull, lift up to 35lbs on an intermittent basis; able to bend, stoop, sit, stand and walk without restrictions.
  • • Neuropsychologists travel to assigned facilities as part of their role. While efforts are made to minimize commutes, physically they will need to be able to withstand potentially long commutes in the car. Neuropsychologists will also be responsible for reliable source of transportation to and from sites.
